FOW PUGs with suisidal members
I was in the FOW a few nights ago and one member of the group was apperently trying to get everyone else in the PUG killed. They were a W/Mo and would pull all sorts of different mobs towards us then back off and not fight while the rest of the group had to fight off the mobs. This continued until we got into the Armored Bug cave where he would be well outside of the groups argo bubble pulling new mobs into the pug. The pug was able to kill of the mobs minus him and another person who left earlier. When we had killed all the mobs there he finally just quite.
The group felt that he was trying to get us killed and that he left because he wasn't able to get fow to himself.
My question is, is this a commen ocurance in high end areas where one member of the group will attempt to kill off everyone else?

It happens in other areas too - they seem to get a kick out of messing up other people and work one area until the regulars know the name then move on.
Most people dont keep notes so they can eventually rotate back and nobody remembers them.
Just chalk it up to experience

There are some truly nice people to pug with and add to your friends list and they far out number the ones that try to undermine your group. It would be a shame if everyone decided not to pug anymore at all.

I suggest staying well away from the warrior as he runs in. They will initially attack him; if you are too close they will swap targets to you, if you arent close they will wipe the warrior and you get to laugh and not res.
It doesnt happen often though, just go with players that are patient and dont shout "GO GO GIVE 125 GOLD TO LEADER NOW AND GO", cos they will be bad players and possibly act as you have described.

I never take a W/mo to the FOW anyway, reuable rez should be on a caster, And any wammo builds that rely on monk skills will get owned in the shadow army

This is the first time I have "noticed" this behavior, I have been in some groups that I felt were not good, but we always have had fun. I have not had this type of experience before. When if at all ever possible i like to PUG because it is a MMO, not a single player game.

Another thing is that when people quit their drops become ownerless and you can just go back and pick up whatever they left behind. I've heard that after about 10 minutes that ALL drops become ownerless but have never seen such a thing.

Yeah, another problem is 55 Monks acting like regular monks to get into FoW for free and then when fighting off the 2nd mob they go running off to solo. I go running after them and stay in the area and some of their nice drops become mine <grin>. Or talk to the ghost early and have him run to his usual spot before the mobs are killed so he dies and we go back without that 55 Monk.

Don't judge a person solely on their profession combo. Just because they are W/Mo doesn't mean they are necessarily a bad player. I go into the FOW quite often with my Warrior and most of the time I am a monk 2ndary. This is so I can bring Remove Hex along. Usually the monk in the group is too busy healing to remove SS from me so I remove it myself. If we have 2 monks along and I know them and know that they are competent then I'll bring a different skill, but that's rare.
I'm sick of constantly spamming "I have Spiteful Spirit on me" only to be ignored by the monk. Then inevitably some jerk in the group sends "WTF? Why are you just standing there? ATTACK!!!"
Oh, and Jeremy, my wammo does quite well against the shadow army.
Also, Vala, all drops will lose ownership after 10 minutes. This is true for all drops everywhere.

I personally like Holy Veil, so I can preveil myself before the fight and remove the hex without pausing my current action during the fight.
Your monks will always appreciate Succor if you can spare the energy...

Hex Eater Vortex ftw in FoW. One huge reason to always take a Mesmer.

I have seen some suicidal puggers, but none of those that seemed to do it on purpose.
Most recent experience of such would be in UW, the tanking warrior kept backtracking to attack any aataxes that passes trough his tank spot, and by that giving the casters 3 extra aataxes to deal with
And i disagree on ignoring pugs, so now and then you'll find a nice pug wich is very succesfull or just a pug with friendly people.
Lately i came across such a pug while trying to pass gyala on my sin, we teamed up to do it in hard mode with me as healer after a while, and we simply blasted trough it to get masters on it.
Funny thing of that was the fact that our tank was a hammer wielding W/El with armor of earth and sliver armor that just made every other warrior tank look pathetic
Don't fool yourself by thinking Wa/Mo and Hammer warriors aren't the best options, in some cases this is far from the truth!

Too many do this now. Can't find enough people now to do some missions, and if there happens to be enough people, 6 wammos doing The Wilds? Gotta love it.
